Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said on Tuesday, "Japan won't do anything to sacrifice the agriculture sector in US trade talks."

Earlier on, the country's Farm Minister Shinjirō Koizumi noted that they "will continue to work with various ministries towards maximizing Japan's national interests in the context of trade negotiations with the US."
