Japan's Tokyo CPI inflation eases to 3.1% YoY in June

The headline Tokyo Consumer Price Index (CPI) for June rose 3.1% YoY as compared to 3.4% in the previous month, the Statistics Bureau of Japan showed on Friday.

Additionally, Tokyo CPI ex Fresh Food climbed 3.1% YoY in June against 3.3% expected and down from 3.6% in the prior month. The Tokyo CPI ex Fresh Food, Energy rose 3.1% YoY in June, compared to the previous reading of 3.3%.

Market reaction to the Tokyo Consumer Price Index

As of writing, the USD/JPY pair was up 0.14% on the day at 144.60.
