El par USD/CAD cae bruscamente a cerca de 1.3900 en la sesión europea del miércoles. El par se debilita a medida que el Dólar estadounidense (USD) retrocede tras un breve movimiento de recuperación el martes. El Índice del Dólar estadounidense (DXY), que sigue el valor del Dólar frente a seis monedas principales, cae a cerca de 99.40.

Los inversores continúan deshaciéndose del Dólar estadounidense ante el temor de que la creciente guerra de aranceles entre Estados Unidos (EE.UU.) y China resulte en una estanflación. La incapacidad de EE.UU. para satisfacer las importaciones perdidas de China en términos de cantidad y precios en un corto período de tiempo podría llevar a un aumento de las presiones inflacionarias y desacelerar el crecimiento económico.

Mientras tanto, la disminución de la credibilidad del Dólar estadounidense debido a los erráticos anuncios de aranceles por parte del presidente estadounidense Donald Trump también ha pesado sobre el Índice del USD.

De cara al futuro, el principal desencadenante para el Dólar estadounidense será el discurso del presidente de la Reserva Federal (Fed), Jerome Powell, que está programado para las 17:30 GMT.

El país vecino, los inversores se centrarán en la decisión de política monetaria del Banco de Canadá (BoC), que se anunciará a las 13:45 GMT. Se espera que el BoC mantenga las tasas de interés en sus niveles actuales del 2.75%. Esta sería la primera reunión desde junio en la que el banco central mantendrá las tasas de interés estables. Hasta ahora, el BoC ha reducido sus tasas de interés clave en 225 puntos básicos (pbs).

Los inversores también prestarán especial atención a la conferencia de prensa del gobernador del BoC, Tiff Macklem, para obtener pistas sobre cómo la política internacional de Trump dará forma a la política monetaria y las perspectivas económicas.
