Arrange chart windows

In MetaTrader4 (MT4) / MetaTrader5 (MT5), there are 4 ways to display multiple charts simultaneously. If you wish to show all the charts in the same size, use "Tile Windows". If you wish to overlay them, use "Cascade". If you wish to line them up vertically, use "Tile Horizontally". If you wish to line them up horizontally, use "Tile Vertically".

Here we'll look at how to arrange the chart windows on MT4/MT5.

Step 1

Click "Window" in the menu and select how to arrange your charts.

Step 2

The charts will be arranged in the way you chose.

Tile Windows

Display all charts in the same size.

You can also show all the charts in the same size by clicking the "Tile Windows" button in the toolbar.

Cascade

All charts are overlaid.

Tile Horizontally

Line all the charts up vertically.

Line all the charts up horizontally.

Step 3

If you wish to rearrange the order of the charts, drag and drop the symbol tabs displayed below the charts to your preferred order. The charts will be automatically rearranged accordingly.

The order of the symbol tabs determines how the charts are arranged. The chart for the left-most symbol in the symbol tabs will be placed in the top left corner, the chart for the right-most symbol will be in the bottom right corner, and the other symbols will be arranged vertically from left to right. This is the same regardless of the chart alignment type.

For example, if the charts for four symbols are being displayed when the "Tile Windows" is selected, the order of the symbol tabs and the chart order will be as in the image below.
